Halloween mini album by Nikki Sivils and I've been tagged

I was lucky enough to be introduced to Nikki Sivils recently. She is a sweet person who is premiering her Scrapbook company at CHA this year. She lives in the same city as I do so I was lucky enough to meet her in person. She asked Katrina and I to make mini albums for her to take to CHA with her! I was so excited and I thrilled to make a Halloween mini album for her!
Her paper line is called Boo-tiful. The album I made is using her ghost shaped chipboard! So cute!

See the flag? Nikki has packages of plain craft flags to alter! Aren't they cute?!!

These are photos from our Halloween party from 2007.

I think this is a great idea! See the silver tag? Do you recognize it? It's bread tabs! Nikki has sets of bread tabs that you can alter! They make great tags!!

My Girl Vintage Paper Bag Album

I loved working with this paper!!! It's called "Vintage Yummy" by Sassafras Lass. This paper describes my style perfectly! Vintage!!!!! Here is a link to Sassafras Lass website if you wish to see the entire collection.

My local Scrapbook store, where I work, carried this line. As soon as I finished this album I took it to the store and it has been displayed there ever since.
The fabric binding is strips of fabric which has been ripped and tied to book rings to give the album a playful look.

My favorite sheet of paper is filled with small frames with beautiful vintage images. White lace border around the photo mat to match the framed pictures in the background.

This album is supposed to be about the life of your daughter so these first two pages are for baby photos.

I enjoyed using bright colors for this album! Orange is not a color I use on anything but Halloween so it was great to be able to use it here.

Tulle is great for scrapbooking. It can be knotted like on this page or gathered and made into a ruffle border.

I used images of little girls from old sewing patterns to match the albums style.

These girls are from a vintage children's book.

I have used foam dots which are available at any craft store to give the small frames dimension.

An added tag gave more detail to my album.

Another lovely girl from a sewing pattern. The polka dot paper is called "Dotted Swiss" by Bazzill.

Stapling fabric to your pages is a great way to avoid the mess of regular glue.

A vintage gold buckle gives a great touch to finish off the album.

On the back cover I have used Prima's Pearl swirls for an added whimsy!

A close up of the fabric strips.

Thank you for looking at my album!

I'm a Believer

When I am trying to think of a title for my layouts I find that song titles can often be perfect. For this layout about daydreaming I immediately thought of one of my favorite Monkee's songs called Daydream Believer.

I found vintage blue flower lace at an antique store that matched my paper perfectly. Lace and ribbon can be the perfect accent to a page and so cheap to buy! If you live near a Hobby Lobby then you will know that they run their ribbon half off about every other week. If not then you can look at thrift and antique stores to find some really great deals.

I love this paper line! It is K & Co "Daydeams" line. I love the unicorns. They were fun to cut out to add a more whimsical feel to the layout.

The decorative mats on my layout were cut using the Storybook cartridge on my Cricut Expression. In my opinion it's the best cartridge Cricut ever created and it's now at Wal Mart!

Another wonderful reason to use lace on your layouts is that you can use pigment ink and change the color of the lace to match your design! That's what I did here with this layout and then added old buttons to add more dimension!

I met an amazing woman at my job at a local scrapbook store! Her name is Katrina and she is now a wonderful friend of mine! She has a great blog too!!!!! She is so talented! Her layout pictured below is featured on Sassafras's blog right now!!!!!!!!! Go see it and comment on her blog congratulating her on her success! She truly deserves it!!!!!!!!!
