When I saw this paper by Sassafrass Lass I immediately thought of Dorothy and her little dog too! The line is called Serendipity and it is too cute! The sheet with the rainbows is called "Promises" and the sheet below is called "Criss Cross".
With the 70th Anniversary of the movie just 2 months away, I have been thinking about how much I have enjoyed the books and the movie throughout my life. Ever since I was little I have wanted to collect Wizard of Oz books. I just love to see the different illustrations.
The two illustrations I used were reprinted from an old copy of The Wizard of Oz. I then colored them with pencils and inked the edges.
For this card I was trying to find a way to use up scraps (because I can't throw anything away) and this card is what I came up with. The image is from a vintage apron pattern. The paper is Cosmo Cricket's "Early Bird" line.
Happy Tuesday, Lindsey
Lindsey! Your creations are darling :) I have such great memories of Oz, too... I associate candy corn with it for some reason (must have been a treat with popcorn at a memorable viewing) and I remember once I had had strep throat, and my mom let me eat bowl after bowl of ice-cream while watching Dorothy trying to get back home...
ReplyDeleteLove the card, too - great images :)
Oh that's right! Dorthy wore blue Gingham. I get teary eyed every time I watch Oz! Dorthy reminds me of my mother. ♥
ReplyDeleteThe thin red ribbon and tiny bow make the apron card perfect!
(I made you something today.) ☺
Hi Lindsey! you do such beautiful work....I love the Wizard of oz too. In a town not to far from me, they had a festival called the wizard of oz fest, they even had some of the real actors come (lollie pop kids). There were crafts and food and costumes and all kinds of neat things. I don't think they have it anymore but it was a good time....hugs, Jennifer
ReplyDeleteGreat layout - I love Wizard of Oz!
