I know I am jumping past Halloween for this post, but I promise I will get back to the Halloween and Fall posts after this.
I wanted to share with you photos of a class I will be teaching at the Scrapbook store where I work.
This will be my first attempt at teaching so I am very nervous! But I am very excited, too!
My coworkers have been asking me for months that I should teach classes but with my shyness I didn't know if I could do it.
So when I brought in this paper bag album to be a sample for the store, my Boss told me that I would be teaching it as a class at our Holiday Open House on November 21st.
I originally thought I would create a Halloween paper bag album but the Halloween paper didn't arrive as early as the Christmas paper so it was much easier to create a Christmas album instead.
Awe, I really like this alot. What a great job. I haven't heard of a paper bag journal yet. I haven't even made a journal. I know you'll do fine and probably have a ball once you get started in the class. Maybe one day you can share a tutorial with us ~ I would love it.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day...Tracy :)
Oh how exciting, Lindsey! I wish I could be there, too! When we move to Idaho I'll be closer to these type of opportunities.
ReplyDeleteTeaching an "art" class with your hands full won't be as nerve wracking as just standing empty handed in front of a group.
Your "students" will be absorbed with their own projects and you'll know that they really want to be there learning.
One thing that helped me when I taught women was just being honest. Tell them you're terribly nervous and you'll have instant sympathy and support and they'll probably laugh! Laughing always eases any tension you might feel.
☺ ♥
I THINK IT'S BEAUTIFUL. I ALSO THINK YOU SHOULD PRACTICE ON ALL OF US WITH THIS ONE. I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT IT AND WOULD LOVE TO MAKE ONE FOR CHRISTMAS. YOU COULD POST MATERIALS NEEDED THE FIRST DAY, THEN SHOW HOW TO MAKE THE BAG (IF YOU MAKE IT) THEN SHOW HOW TO MAKE A PAGE A DAY OR A WEEK WHATEVER. JUST SHOW US HOW TO DO IT LINDSEY, WE NEED ONE FOR CHRISTMAS TO. PLEASEEEE!!! HAVE A GREAT DAY
ReplyDeleteThat is quite a fabulous scrapbook! I'm so excited for Christmas! But all in due time... I won't rush along my other holidays...
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful scrapbook! You'll do just fine teaching, you'll probably get so caught up in the details of the craft you'll forget all about being nervous! Have Fun! Suzie
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome that you will be teaching a class Lindsay. I LOVE your project. It came out beautifully. Love all of the interactive bits. It is soooo pretty.

ReplyDeleteI am a blog lurker but think you are a gifted paper artist! In rural Ohio my classes for scrapbooking are very limited. I enjoy your blog and get some great ideas. I wish I lived closer to take your class-- Thanks for the inspiration. KHenry- Ohio
We will be there with you - in spirit! I really think you're on a fabulous journey, and you're just getting ready to show the world what you can do. The scrapbook is wonderful - I'm so glad your boss recruited you!
ReplyDeleteBack again! I saw this paper at my scrapbook store. The green paper in particular just drives me nuts! I will be posting details of my Christmas Tag Swap on Monday. Until then, happy scrapping! E
